Director of Religious Education (DRE)

Religious Education Director, Linda Lee

Linda grew up in southern NJ. She attended Quaker schools and was strongly influenced by the ideals of that religion. After college she lived at Perkins School for the Blind while studying for her master’s degree. She worked 10 years in special education in Florida and in Washington (state) at a residential school on the Colville Indian Reservation.

After the birth of their first child, Bill and Linda moved east to be closer to families. Linda was the first director of the Rape Crisis Center, serving northern Kennebec and Somerset counties. She was involved in various roles there for 12 years.

Linda worked in the Messalonskee School system for ten years in the Title I program, where she started Title I math services in the four elementary schools. She retired from teaching in 2009. She and her husband travel to Florida for two months in the winter where they stay near their daughters, who live there.

Linda enjoys being the Director of Religious Education at the UU Church of Waterville where she gets to collaborate with the enthusiastic and creative RE Teams, work closely with the minister and interact with our dynamic church youth.
