One
of the best ways to meet people and become involved in church life is to join a
committee or group. Being a part of such
groups provides an opportunity to nurture community, foster meaningful
conversations, and work together to make the world a better place.
Some of these groups and committees function as prayer groups and meditation groups, others are directed to social or environmental justice or to the general maintenance of the church. Click here for an overview of the committees who always are looking for new members. Some groups meet in members’ homes and some meet at the church. Either way, early in the life of a group, understandings are established defining relationships within the group, covering such areas as attendance, confidentiality, staying focused on the topic, whether or not to serve food etc. New people are always welcome.
